Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg

Method
 

  1. Brush cast iron corn stikc pan liberally with oil.
  2. Place the pan in the cold oven and preheat the oven and pan together to 425 degrees/
  3. While the oven and pan preheat; mix the flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt, and baking powder until combined in a mixing bowl.
  4. Add egg and milk until just combined. Let the batter rest while the oven preheats.
  5. Once the oven is preheated to 425 degrees, take out the cornbread pan.
  6. Spoon batter into the pan to the top of each cavity.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let the cornbread sticks rest in the pan for about a minute before trying to remove them from the pan. Repeat for the batch.
